Custom resolutions are not supported as of now. Also, hardware acceleration is not yet present. This is due to unreleased open-vm-tools updates and vesa patches and can not be hacked around at the time of writing (8th of November 2021).

There is currently a bug that prevents any VMware based virtual machine running on an M1 host from entering fullscreen mode(only 4:3 pseudo full screen is supported at a fixed resolution of 1024 x 768).
